Mid Nov '23 Update. AI is taking a long time, and I'm not sure if the memory is configured correctly.


So ... the AI needs to complete training before I can proceed. I've left the computer at my mom's house on 24/7 for the past few months to complete this task. Visual Observations are a compute heavy task and they requires a powerful GPU + lots of ram. In fact they require a GPU cluster, but Unity limits the use of GPU to just one. Once the AI is decent I do plan on creating new maps for this game slowly over time. Creating maps are a great opportunity for me to test out and experiment with some wicked shader and graphical stuff. That said, again, the ai is taking a long time. 5 months of non-stop training at it's barely at 100 million steps, not to mention the first 90 steps I forgot to configure the memory settings (because I'm a numpty. I knew what it was but I hadn't learned the numbers and ended up forgetting.). Anyway after I did add memory the Voogies AI is a bit better, at first they got worse, but after 10 million steps they are better than the previous iteration. However an other issue came up; I don't understand the how much memory I need to give, and how much is available. I am pretty much maxing out vram and ram as it is.

Anyway, stay tuned for changes at some time IDK when, in the mean time I'm gonna chill while my pc does the training XD.
